Automation meta language

I collaborated on the AML project during my time in the reporting team with several colleagues. It involved the development of an already programmed Excel application in the VBA language, which processed information from several data sources, i.e. she did ETL and unified the output in the MS Powerpoint application. Due to the ease of use, the given application could be used by any of the colleagues who did not have technical knowledge, as the application contained easily accessible, clickable functions and parameters. The given parameters could be rewritten and set so that the user of the given application could process his reports automatically, run them regularly and do them in a short time visually available output in Powerpoint applications. In general, at that time when Power BI did not exist and dynamic query was used mostly as a visual tool for displaying graphs, PowerPoint tables, but also texts for management. And this AML through preset parameters was able to connect several IT tools, from which previously people made reports separately and copied manually to Powerpoint according to the sequence of steps written in Word. Among such tools that AML was able to work with were Brio Hyperion, Lotus Notes, Essbase, Excel, Powerpoint and MS Access. In order for the application to be used in the team, since it had a simple front end, I also provided training for the people in the team.

Benefit for the company

The AML project greatly simplified the work in the reporting team so lengthy manual regular reports could be made with one click and thus the employees could focus on other things and thus the number of necessary workers for the reporting department was reduced. Thanks to this tool, it was possible to later move the entire department to India without any problems.
